Adventures in Småland

I’ve always thought Sweden was beautiful but last weekend made me realise that it’s actually like a fairy-tale.  We enjoyed a weekend getaway in  Småland together with some friends. Småland is in the South of Sweden and it’s quite popular because it’s the place where Astrid Lindgren, the famous Swedish writer, grew up as a child and where many of her stories found their inspiration. Her Pippi was my favourite character for such a long time as a kid and it was so lovely to visit the place where all her adventures began.

We had amazing weather, went on a moose safari (hence my outfit), swam in crystal blue lakes ( not me, I’m not that “Scandinavian’), enjoyed forest bathing, good wine and bread on a stick. It was pretty much the perfect getaway.

Småland is so green! The forests are covered in moss and it all looks incredibly beautiful. If you are ever around, be sure to visit this part of Sweden, it’s a natural paradise.
