Hi, everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty good, starting with a fabulous Friday night of partying like Gatsby and ending in cheesecake paradise on Sunday afternoon. First of all, let me tell you that I have never been a fan of cakes, sweets and desserts in general. But all of that changed when I moved to Copenhagen. This city has it all, beautiful places and people, lots of things to do and see, but the worst possible weather. Thus, with depression constantly knocking on your door, it’s only natural that you want to surround yourself with friends, lovely environments, sit in cozy corners and indulge in your favourite activities. And so, from not liking cakes at all, I now feel like treating myself to a slice of happiness every time I’m in great company.
What got my friend Alex and I through yesterday, was this lovely cheesecake place in Frederiksberg, called Bertels Salon. Unlike many of the coffee places here in Copenhagen, Bertels is very spacious, which is great for when you want to take your time without the pressure of someone waiting to take your seat. With simple and very tasteful decorations, comfy chairs and couches, pastel coloured tables and fashion magazines in every corner, it was so easy to feel like home and want to stay there longer than what it took me to eat a slice of cheesecake.
Speaking of which, yes, they are are just as good as they look. Creamy, tasty and super light, I enjoyed 1 and half pieces without any traces of guilt. If you want to give it a try, go for the cinnamon apple one. You can thank me later 🙂
