Skincare essentials

Ana set the tone with her favourite skincare products a while ago and now I guess it’s my turn. When it comes to skincare I’m pretty low maintenance. I have a normal skin complexion so I don’t need to use a lot of products or to search a lot for the ones that suit me best. Nevertheless, I still do it! Because I am a girl and that’s how we are, we just have to try new stuff all the time. But I noticed that my routine and the brands that I use haven’t changed in a long while, so for the moment I am sticking to this mix of products.IMG_1225To cleanse and tone my face I use the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap and  Clarifying Lotion. I don’t use makeup remover, so I’m counting on these two to do the trick. And they do it quite well, leaving my face fresh and clean, but without drying it too much. IMG_1232Once or twice a week, depending on how my skin is looking, I do a gentle scrub to remove dead cells and get that youthful glow, like after 30 minutes in the sauna. I like Sase’s exfoliating scrub with chamomile because it’s paraben free and has naturally active ingredients like macadamia nut oil, tomato extract, chamomile extract, castor oil and grapefruit white oil. When it comes to our bodies, in general, I think the more natural things we put inside and on our skin, the better.IMG_1246Lately, and by that I mean in the last couple of years, I’ve been obsessing with oils. I love using them on my body, face and hair, but more about that in another post. Now let’s talk about my absolute favourite: Jojoba oil. I use two drops on my face before going to bed, as a moisturiser, to complete the routine I mentioned above. Fo me, it works perfectly. I sometimes use one drop in the morning too, if my face is very dry.  It feels very nourishing, it’s rich in vitamin E and antioxidants and I’m pretty sure it’s safe to use it if you have oily or mixed skin too.IMG_1239That’s it for me 🙂 Do you have any beauty secrets you feel like sharing?
